Latin Grammy-winning producer/composer/musician Barrett Martin’s work can be heard on albums by artists ranging from Ayron Jones, REM, Queens Of The Stone Age, Mad Season, Shipibo Shamans,The Last Bluesman Soundtrack and Blues legend CeDell Davis. Barrett career took off as the drummer for the Seattle grunge band The Screaming Trees, who have garnered multiple top 10 singles, cementing their place as one the the most successful underground acts of the 90s. 

After his success as a musician, Martin turned to producing where he’s found great success. Among his many accolades, Martin was awarded a Latin Grammy for ‘Best Brazilian Rock Album’ (Nando Reis, ‘Jardim-Pomar’) and is a recipient of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson  Award for writing. His Sony Music imprint label, Sunyata Records, has released a number of critically acclaimed LPs including Martin’s own ‘Scattered Diamonds’ and Ayron Jones ‘Audio Paint Job’. Martin, Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagen and Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready are frequent collaborators, and also members of the supergroup ‘The Levee Walkers’. 

Barrett works mostly out of his own studio in Seattle where he’s recently produced songs for Ayron Jones highly anticipated forthcoming LP for John Varvatos/Big Machine, including the lead single “Take Me Away”, which debuted on the Billboard Top 10 charts and has gained an impressive amount of spins on rock radio. He’s currently in the studio as a co-producer and member of a new group ’Silverlites’  that includes REM’s Peter Buck and Black Crowe’s Rich Robinson (Thirty Tigers).
