Lawrence Rothman born in St.Louis, Mo is a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. After a series of 4 EP’s Lawrence’s debut album The Book of Law was released on October 13, 2017 via Downtown Records/Interscope. The album was produced by Lawrence Rothman and Justin Raisen , and featured contributions from Angel Olsen, Kim Gordon, Marissa Nadler, Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, Nick Zinner, Charli XCX, Kristin Kontrol, among others.  In 2020 Rothman produced The Turning soundtrack for Dreamworks Pictures feat Mitski, Girl in Red, Warpaint, Kali Uchis, Courtney Love, Soccer Mommy, Kim Gordon along with acting alongside Shailene Woodley and Sebastian Stan in the film “Endings, Beginnings”. 

As a producer, songwriter and mixer, Lawrence has worked with Angel Olsen, Kali Uchis, Girl in Red, Kali Uchis, Alison Mosshart, Soccer Mommy, Amanda Shires,  SASAMI, Marissa Nadler, Kim Gordon, Charli XCX, Lucinda Williams, Jason Isbell, Courtney Love, Bartees Strange, Girlpool, Steve Albini and more. Lawrence has Rothman Recorders a mix and tracking complex Laurel Canyon, CA with an extensive vintage gear collection. A Neve console once owned by Willie Nelson and a Quad Eight console once owned by The Band are it’s centerpiece’s.

In 2010, Lawrence scored the feature film The Runaways, a biopic on the Joan Jett fronted female rock band The Runaways, starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning. In 2017, Rothman scored the News Emmy-nominated New York Times “Great Performers” short film series starring Nicole Kidman, Timothy Chalamet, Saoirse Ronan, Jake Gyllenhaal and Daniel Kaluuya. In 2018, Lawrence scored a short film on the life of occult filmmaker Kenneth Anger for Gucci and Systems Magazine. Additionally, Lawrence has scored varoius short films for Gucci, Mercedes, BMW, Levi’s, Alexander McQueen, TATE Modern,  Barbican Centre, Cheverolet and MAC Cosmetics. Currently Lawrence is composing for the film “Silence oF Mercy” starring Annabelle Wallis out in winter 2023
