Doug Showalter is an American music producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and artist based in Nashville, TN.

He’s worked and collaborated with a wide range of artists in multiple genres including Harry Styles, Cam, Lennon Stella, 30 Seconds to Mars, Smokey Robinson, Mikky Ekko, Van Hunt, Rafferty, and Gabriel Black.

Doug was born and raised in Kokomo, Indiana. Exposed to a wide range of music at a young age, he quickly took to guitar and began writing songs at age 8. In 2005, Doug moved to Los Angeles to attend Musician’s Institute. It was during his decade in LA that he found a creative community that included hitmaker Tyler Johnson, as well as triple platinum country artist Cam.

After relocating to Nashville in 2015, Doug soon made the switch from touring guitarist to full time producer and songwriter in 2018. This allowed him to fully realize his passion for writing and producing songs, which then led to him becoming an integral part of Tyler Johnson’s production team. He runs his own studio and label, Mt. Molehill, and also releases his own Thrash Pop music as Octopotamus.

Doug is currently in the studio with Tyler Johnson working with a wide range of artists, as well as producing and co-writing upcoming releases with Gabriel Black, Rafferty, and for his own Octopotamus project.
